Champions Crowned at the 31st Alabama State Senior Four-Ball & 7th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships

LOXLEY, AL (October 11, 2025) – Final Round results from the 31st Alabama State Senior Four-Ball and 7th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships hosted at Steelwood Country Club in Loxley, AL, October 9-11, 2025.

The side of Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery + Jeff Taylor of Montgomery fired the low round of the tournament today to be crowned champions of the 31st Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship. The duo finished three-shots ahead of the second place side, carding an overall score of 19-under 197 (64, 71, 62) to take home their third Alabama State Senior Four-Ball title. 
 
“We ham and egged it on the front,” said Taylor. “And then I watched Shaw go to work on the back which was amazing to see.”
 
“Jeff and I have been playing together a long time and this is probably one of the most fun tournaments the AGA puts on all year, so it feels awesome to win it with my friend.”
 
Claud Cooper of Birmingham + McGowin Miller of Birmingham placed second. They finished the day with a five-under 67, carding a 16-under 200 (67, 66, 67) for the Championship.
 
The side of Chris Hummel of Birmingham + Sam Mango of Birmingham won third place. The duo completed the Final Round with a two-under 70; they posted 14-under 202 (66, 66, 70) overall. 
 
Dana Amberson of Hartselle + Harry Kirkland of Decatur went low today to achieve a three-peat and claim the 7th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball title. The duo fired a Final Round seven-under 65 and finished the tournament at 13-under 203 (71, 67, 65) to secure their third consecutive State Super-Senior Four-Ball victory. 
 
David Head of Sterrett + Randy Smith of Childersburg took home silver. They posted two-under 70 for the Final Round and 12-under 204 (65, 69, 70) overall. 
 
The team of George Walker of Fairhope + Rusty Boyd of Fairhope claimed bronze, carding a seven-under 65 for the day and 11-under 205 (69, 71, 65) overall. 
 
These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.
 
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
 
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors.
