Round Two Results of the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior and 3rd Alabama Women’s State Mid-Amateur Championships

ANNISTON, AL (June 9, 2026) – Round two results of the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior and 3rd Alabama Women’s State Mid-Amateur Championships held at Anniston Country Club in Anniston, AL on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Merritt Daniel of Trussville posted a Second Round score of five-under-par 72 to climb to the top of the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior leaderboard. Bogey-free through 36 holes, Daniel sits at two-under par 142 overall and holds a one-shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow. 

Courtney Grace of Birmingham and Brooklyn Sutter of Cullman each finished Round Two at one-under-par 143 to sit tied for second. Grace and Sutter sit two-shots ahead of Anna Christian Beeker of Tuscaloosa (4).

At the Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, Ashley-Sinclair Curtis of Enterprise fired a Second Round score of one-over 73 to widen her overall lead by eight-shots. She is currently four-over 148 after rounds one and two.

Linda Jeffery of Prattville sits at second posting an overall score of twelve-over 156 for the tournament.

The Final Round of the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior and 3rd Alabama Women’s State Mid-Amateur will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with a double tee start going off of holes #1 and #10.

In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
