Round One Co-leader, SJ Thomas of Birmingham posted four-under 67 today to grab the solo Second Round lead. Thomas fired five birdies today and is currently 7-under 135 for the tournament.
Morgan Slaton of Huntsville finished Round Two at four-under 138 to stand second and Jackson Skinner of Birmingham sits at third with a score of three-under 139.
Chris Devlin of Hoover and Pierce Becker of Birmingham each finished Round Two at seven-under 137 to stand T2.
Will McCurdy (T4) fired the low round of the day, five-under 66.
Four players sit T4, each finishing Round Two at two-under 140 overall:
- Will McCurdy of Auburn
- Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne
- Ryley Heath of Decatur
- Hudson Lawson of Haleyville
The field was cut to the low sixty and ties. The cutline fell at seven-over with sixty-three players advancing to the final two rounds of the 110th Alabama State Amateur Championship.
Round Three of the 110th Alabama State Amateur Championship will begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 33,500 individuals. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
