HOOVER, A L (Sept. 1, 2026) – The Alabama Golf Association (AGA) announces the Alabama All-State Teams for 2026. This is the tenth year of the awards being presented by the Alabama Golf Association.

All-State teams are awarded based on the Alabama State Junior Golf Rankings System, which awards points per event based on the number of participants in the event combined with the overall strength of the field. These tournaments must also meet additional requirements to be a sanctioned rankings event. Teams are annually based on the player performance over the past 12 months from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026.

All-State team members will be honored with other Alabama State Players of the Year in early 2027.
 
Girls First Team:
 
Courtney Grace, 2030, Birmingham — Grace is a homeschooled sophomore. In late June, after a one-hole playoff, Courtney finished second in the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur Championship at Cider Ridge Golf Club. Courtney carded rounds of 70-72-65 (207) to secure a place on the podium. Earlier that month, Courtney shot rounds of 72-71-71 (214) to finish third in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club. Courtney secured victories in the Randy Watkins Junior in Madison, Mississippi, in October 2025 and the Scott Robertson Memorial in Roanoke, Virginia, in May, as well as a tied-for-ninth finish in the Kathy Whitworth Invitational in Lewisville, Texas, in March. In four AJGA events, Courtney earned two top 10 finishes, including tied seventh in June’s Rolex Girls Junior Championship in Illinois (71-71-75–217) and tied eighth in May’s Thunderbird/Heather Farr Classic in Arizona (71-73-72–216). In early June’s Pete Dye Junior Invitational in Indiana, Courtney shot 74-78-76 (228) to finish tied for seventh. Courtney is the No. 1-ranked junior in the state of Alabama and the 2026 Alabama Golf Association Junior Girls Player of the Year.

Julie Waldo, 2026, Prattville — Waldo is a 2026 graduate of Alabama Christian Academy. Julie earned a tied fourth finish in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club in early June, shooting 74-74-68 (216). In the 77th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina, Julie advanced to the Round of 64. Julie secured victories in December 2025’s First Tee Miami Doral Junior Classic (69-75-74–218) and the Florida Junior Tour’s Golf Road Junior Open in Boynton Beach in June (74-65–139), as well as a second-place finish in August’s Golfweek Hoosier Amateur at Indiana University’s Pfau Course (75-71-74–220). As a member of Team Alabama, Julie secured 1.5 points to help lead Alabama to its 10th consecutive Southern Junior Cup victory in Missouri in late July. Julie ended her Southern Junior Cup career with 7.5 points, tied for fourth in the overall career standings for Team Alabama (Girls and Boys). Julie will continue her golf career at Jacksonville State University.

Brooklyn Sutter, 2029, Vinemont — Sutter is a sophomore at West Point High School. In early June, Brooklyn carded rounds of 73-70-70 (213) to finish second in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club. Later that month, Brooklyn shot 77-68-72 (217) to finish seventh at the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club. In July’s 3rd Alabama Women’s State Match Play Championship at Musgrove Country Club, Brooklyn advanced to the semifinals. A participant in four AJGA events, Brooklyn earned three top 10 finishes, highlighted by a third-place finish at the AJGA Junior Presented by Decatur/Morgan County Tourism in May. In three Golfweek Junior events, Brooklyn recorded three top three finishes, highlighted by a victory in the Golfweek Junior at Western Kentucky in February (69-75–144). Brooklyn went undefeated in Four-Ball, Foursomes, and Singles play to help lead Team Alabama to a “decade of dominance” in the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri.

Merritt Daniel, 2029, Trussville — Daniel is a sophomore at Hewitt-Trussville High School. For the second consecutive year, Merritt won the Alabama Girls State Junior Championship. In the 63rd edition of the Girls Junior, Merritt outlasted the field to win by one stroke at Anniston Country Club (75-67-70–212). Her victory in Anniston earned Merritt a place in the 77th U.S. Girls’ Junior at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. Also in June, Merritt won the Alabama-Northwest Florida Junior PGA Championship at Musgrove Country Club to claim a spot in the 2026 Junior PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas, in July. Merritt finished tied for 19th in the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club in Oxford. A participant in four AJGA events, Merritt finished inside the top 16 in each, highlighted by a tied eighth finish in the Huntsville Junior in early June. In addition, Merritt earned top nine finishes in three Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events and one Golfweek Junior event, highlighted by a victory in the Peninsula Junior Classic in November 2025.

Klare Jamison, 2027, Huntsville — Jamison is a senior at Grissom High School. In the early months of 2026, Klare racked up victories in three Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT) and Hurricane Junior Golf Tour events and earned a second-place finish in another SJGT event. Those results provided a strong lead-in to Klare’s summer, when she finished sixth in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship (72-78-73–223), second in the Red River Amateur in Minnesota (71-74-70—215), and second in the 3rd Alabama Women’s State Match Play Championship at Musgrove Country Club. As a member of Team Alabama, Klare delivered a spirited pep talk on the final day of competition at the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri, helping lead her teammates to a come-from-behind victory over the host team. Klare went undefeated in her three matches in 2026, including a 7 & 5 Singles victory, and owns an undefeated record in two Southern Junior Cup competitions. Klare will continue her golf career at the University of Nebraska after high school.
  
Girls Second Team:  

Kamdyn Kelley, 2027, Dothan — Kelley is a senior at Providence Christian School. In June and late July, Kamdyn earned three top 10 finishes in three Alabama Golf Association championships. At the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club in early June, Kamdyn finished tied for ninth after rounds of 78-76-73 (227). Later in June, at Cider Ridge Golf Club in the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur, Kamdyn finished third with rounds of 72-70-71 (213). Several weeks later, at the 3rd Alabama Women’s State Match Play Championship, Kamdyn advanced to the quarterfinals. Kamdyn also earned two victories and a second-place finish on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour, as well as a victory at the Holiday Junior Classic hosted by Pine Tree Country Club in December 2025. As a member of Team Alabama, Kamdyn earned a crucial half point in Singles play to secure Alabama’s 10th consecutive Southern Junior Cup victory in Missouri, and two points in the 2026 Women’s Southeastern Challenge Matches to help Alabama finish second against Florida and Georgia. Kamdyn will continue her golf career at Lipscomb University after high school.

Anna Christian Beeker, 2027, Tuscaloosa — Beeker is a senior at Tuscaloosa Academy. Once temperatures rose this spring, Anna Christian’s golf game heated up. Between April and mid-July, Anna Christian posted six top 11 finishes in six events, highlighted by a tied fourth finish at the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club (74-71-71—216) and a tied third finish at the AJGA’s Callaway Junior at Canebrake Club (70-72-72—214). In addition, Anna Christian finished tied for 10th in the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club with rounds of 78-77-67 (222), fifth in the Alabama-Northwest Florida Junior PGA Championship at Musgrove Country Club (72-70—142) and tied for sixth at the AJGA Junior Presented by Decatur/Morgan County Tourism (73-71-75—219). Anna Christian will continue her golf career at the University of Kentucky after high school.

Shiloh Gilbert, 2026, Millbrook — Gilbert is a 2026 graduate of Ezekiel Academy. In June, Shiloh secured top 13 finishes in two Alabama Golf Association championships. At the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior at Anniston Country Club, Shiloh carded rounds of 74-78-75 (227) to finish tied for ninth, and at the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club, Shiloh recorded rounds of 83-73-68 (224) to finish tied for 13th. After top five finishes at the Junior Golf Alabama (JGA) Tour Final Presented by Smylie Kaufman in November 2025 (second) and the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour’s Tournament of Champions in December 2025 (fifth), Shiloh finished the summer atop the podium at the Yellowhammer Invitational hosted by RTJ Grand National (Lake) in August. At the Yellowhammer, Shiloh shot 74-69-74 (217) to win by six strokes. Shiloh will continue her golf career at the University of South Alabama.

Beka Yang, 2026, Pike Road — Yang is a 2026 graduate of Pike Road High School. In early June, Beka finished seventh in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club with rounds of 76-78-71 (225). Later that month, Beka carded rounds of 79-75-70 (224) to finish tied for 13th in the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club. Beka recorded three top 18 finishes with the AJGA, highlighted by a tied sixth finish at the Junior Presented by Decatur/Morgan County Tourism in May and a tied ninth finish at the Visit Tuscaloosa Junior in mid-July. As a member of Team Alabama, Beka contributed one point in Foursomes and a crucial half point in final-round Singles play to secure Alabama’s 10th consecutive Southern Junior Cup victory over the host team, Missouri. Beka will continue her golf career at Samford University.

Adalyn Pike, 2027, Athens — Pike is a senior at Athens High School. In June, Adalyn secured top 15 finishes in two Alabama Golf Association championships. At the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior at Anniston Country Club, Adalyn carded rounds of 74-78-74 (226) to finish eighth, while at the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur at Cider Ridge Golf Club, Adalyn recorded rounds of 73-75-79 (227) to finish tied for 15th. After two top 10 finishes in two Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events and a 17th-place finish at the AJGA’s Callaway Junior at Canebrake Club, Adalyn finished the summer with a third-place finish at the Yellowhammer Invitational hosted by RTJ Grand National (Lake) in August. There, Adalyn shot 71-75-82 (228). As a member of Team Alabama, Adalyn contributed points in Foursomes and Singles matches, winning her Singles match 6 & 5, to help secure Alabama’s 10th consecutive Southern Junior Cup victory over host Missouri. Adalyn will continue her golf career at Jacksonville State University after high school.

Girls Third Team:

Sara Carter Hare, 2027, Spanish Fort — Hare is a senior at Spanish Fort High School. With rounds of 80-74-74 (228), Sara Carter finished 12th at the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club in early June. Other highlights of Sara Carter’s year included a victory on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT) at the Ole Miss Junior Classic in late June with rounds of 72-73 (145), along with four additional top 10 finishes on the SJGT between November 2025 and February 2026. Sara Carter will continue her golf career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham after high school.

Presley Justice, 2030, Pinson — Justice is a freshman at Briarwood Christian School. Presley dominated the Birmingham Golf Association (BGA) circuit in June and July, earning six victories in six starts, including rounds of 74-76 (150) to win the BGA Junior Championship at Hoover Country Club in mid-July. In the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur, Presley shot 79-79-77 (235) to finish 17th. In the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour’s Patton Kizzire Junior Classic at The Westerfield Club in August, Presley shot 76-80 (156) to finish third.

Reese Powell, 2029, Birmingham — Powell is a sophomore at Oak Mountain High School. Reese earned victories in the Junior Golf Alabama (JGA) Tour Final Presented by Smylie Kaufman in November 2025 (76-72—148) and the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour’s (SJGT) Southern Junior at Saugahatchee in July (79-76—155). Powell finished 14th in the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club in early June, posting scores of 77-78-79 (234). Reese also recorded two top 21 finishes with the AJGA and three additional top 12 finishes with the SJGT.

Kathryn Hunt, 2031, Birmingham — Hunt is an eighth-grade student at Briarwood Christian Academy. In seven Birmingham Golf Association (BGA) events, Kathryn finished either first or second, including tied for second, in six competitions and finished sixth in the BGA Junior Championship hosted by Hoover Country Club with scores of 84-80 (164). In late July, Kathryn finished second in the 7th Alabama State 13 & Under Junior Championship hosted by Bent Brook Golf Course with rounds of 69-77 (146). She also finished tied for 29th in both the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior (84-87-86—257) and the 94th Alabama Women’s State Amateur (86-83-83—252) in June.

Jasmine Stokes, 2029, Anniston — Stokes is a sophomore at Alexandria High School. In six Apex Tour events played between fall 2025 and spring 2026, Jasmine finished first in five competitions and took fifth in December 2025’s Panini Senior Bowl Junior Winter Classic. Stokes also finished second in the Holiday Junior Classic hosted by Pine Tree Country Club in December 2025. At the 63rd Alabama Girls State Junior Championship at Anniston Country Club in early June 2026, Jasmine shot 79-83-80 (242) to finish 23rd overall.
  Boys First Team:

Tyler Watts, 2026, Huntsville — Watts is a Class of 2026 homeschool high school graduate. In early July, Watts earned a place on the 2026 Walker Cup Team, which will compete against Team Great Britain & Ireland at Lahinch Golf Club in early September. Tyler’s victory in the Northeast Amateur in late June and quarterfinal finish in the Western Amateur in late July led to a fourth-place finish in the 2026 Elite Amateur Cup Championship and earned him an exemption into 2027 Final Qualifying for the U.S. Open as an amateur. As the Elite Amateur Series Champion, Tyler earned exemptions into two PGA Tour events in fall 2025, finishing 53rd in the Procore Championship at Silverado Resort in Napa, California, and tied for 58th in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Southampton, Bermuda. Tyler advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2026 U.S. Amateur at Merion Golf Club outside Philadelphia in August. In addition, Tyler earned top 20 finishes in March’s Junior Invitational at Sage Valley (second) and the Sunnehanna Amateur in mid-June (tied for 18th). Watts represented the United States Golf Association as a member of the National Development Team through graduation and will continue his golf career at the University of Tennessee. Tyler is the No. 1-ranked junior in the state of Alabama and the 2026 Alabama Golf Association Junior Boys Player of the Year.

Rawlin Sutter, 2027, Vinemont — Sutter is a senior at West Point High School. For the second consecutive year, Rawlin won the Alabama State Boys Junior Championship. In the 81st edition of the Boys Junior, Rawlin prevailed by four strokes, earning a place in the 78th U.S. Junior Amateur at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he advanced to the Round of 64. Rawlin also won the Granny Junior Invitational in early August and the Golfweek Junior at Harmony Landing in March 2026. He secured top 15 finishes in two AJGA events, including the Elite Invitational in December 2025, as well as two additional Golfweek Junior events. Rawlin went undefeated in Four-Ball, Foursomes, and Singles play as a member of Team Alabama in the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri. Rawlin will continue his golf career at the University of Alabama after high school.

SJ Thomas, 2029, Birmingham — Thomas is a sophomore at Mountain Brook High School. SJ finished second in the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) in early June, shooting rounds of 68-67-68-75 (278), and tied for second (72-70-66—208) in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in late June. At the 108th Western Junior in Illinois, SJ finished tied for second, earning a place in the 124th Western Amateur in late July. The winner of the AJGA’s Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship in mid-February, SJ also earned top 10 finishes in two other AJGA events, as well as a tied-for-fourth finish at the Notah Begay III Junior National and a tied-for-seventh finish at the Pete Dye Junior Invitational.

Bailey Sutter, 2026, Vinemont — Sutter is a 2026 graduate of West Point High School. In defense of his 2025 title, Bailey finished 12th (70-75-71-71—287) in the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) in early June. Bailey also qualified for a second consecutive U.S. Amateur, held in August 2026 at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania. In Elite Amateur Series events, Bailey made the cut at the Sunnehanna Amateur in June (tied for 56th), the Trans-Mississippi Amateur in July (tied for 40th), and the 120th Southern Amateur (tied for 43rd). Bailey also played in the North & South Amateur in June at Pinehurst Resort and finished tied for 21st in April’s Terra Cotta Invitational in Naples, Florida. Bailey will continue his golf career at the University of Alabama.

Clark Browne, 2026, Vestavia Hills — Browne is a 2026 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. Clark finished tied for sixth in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville in late June, shooting 74-69-67 (210). In August at Goose Pond Colony Resort, Clark qualified for the Round of 16 in the 25th Alabama State Match Play Championship. In mid-June at The Country Club of Birmingham (West), Clark finished tied for 24th in the 110th Alabama State Amateur with rounds of 73-69-72-78 (292). Clark also finished tied for 18th at the AJGA’s Team TaylorMade Invitational in May and tied for 51st at the Western Junior Amateur in mid-June. Clark will continue his golf career at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Boys Second Team:

JP Groat, 2026, Fort Payne – Groat is a 2026 graduate of Fort Payne High School. Following on his first Alabama Golf Association title in the 2025 State Match Play Championship, JP finished tied twenty-first in the 110th Alabama State Amateur held at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) in mid-June with rounds of 74-67-70-80 (291) and tied sixteenth at the 54th Southern Junior Championship in Athens, Georgia (72-67 – 139). In July’s Alabama State Open hosted by the Alabama-Northwest Florida PGA Section, JP secured a tied thirty-sixth finish with rounds of 82-73-74 (229). JP earned 2.5 points in Four-Ball, Foursomes, and Singles play as a member of Team Alabama in the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri to help lead Alabama to its tenth consecutive title. JP will continue his golf career at the University of West Georgia.

Ty Hester, 2028, Guntersville — Hester is a junior at Guntersville High School. In late May, Ty earned a spot in the 78th U.S. Junior Amateur at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, by surviving a three-player, three-hole playoff. Ty finished tied for fourth at the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in late June with rounds of 73-65-71 (209). He competed in the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) and Dothan Country Club’s Future Masters, both in June. Ty also recorded top two finishes in two Junior Golf Alabama Tour (JGA Tour) events, including a victory at the Hudson Junior Amateur in October 2025, as well as a victory in the Southeast Junior Golf Tour’s Hampton Cove Junior in March 2026. Ty earned a point in Foursomes as a member of Team Alabama in the Southern Junior Cup in Missouri in July, helping Alabama secure its 10th consecutive victory.

Liam Hooton, 2029, Harvest — Hooton is a sophomore at Lindsay Lane Christian School. Liam earned a tied-for-sixth finish at the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville in late June, shooting 72-69-69 (210). Hooton also finished tied for eighth in Dothan Country Club’s Future Masters in June and earned top 18 finishes in four different AJGA events between April and July, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the AJGA Junior Presented by Decatur/Morgan County Tourism. Liam won the Junior Golf Alabama Tour (JGA Tour) Bent Brook Junior Amateur in June in a scorecard playoff after rounds of 70-68 (138) and earned top eight finishes in three Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events between November 2025 and August 2026.

Lincoln Kilpatrick, 2028, Gadsden — Kilpatrick is a sophomore who is homeschooled through Liberty University’s Online Academy. Lincoln finished eighth (72-67-72—211) in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville in June. He also won the Apex Tour’s Twin Bridges event in April and found the winner’s circle again in July at the Pensacola Junior Classic, sponsored by the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT). Lincoln recorded top 23 finishes in eight other SJGT events and finished tied for 16th in his lone AJGA start in Huntsville in June.

Cameron Reid Rockett, 2026, Hoover — Rockett is a 2026 graduate of Hoover High School. Reid finished tied for ninth in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, firing rounds of 69-70-73 (212). Reid qualified for and made the cut in the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West), finishing tied for 28th with rounds of 73-74-73-73 (293). In August’s 25th Alabama State Match Play Championship at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Scottsboro, Reid qualified for the Round of 16. The winner of the Magnolia Junior in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in October 2025, Reid contributed 1.5 points to Team Alabama’s victory in the 2026 Southern Junior Cup, earning a half point in Foursomes and a 2 & 1 victory in Singles. Reid will continue his golf career at the University of West Georgia.

Boys Third Team:

Cooper Pratt, 2029, Auburn — Pratt is a sophomore at Auburn High School. Cooper finished tied for second in June’s 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville. Pratt fired rounds of 72-69-67 (208) to secure a podium finish. At the Alabama-Northwest Florida Junior PGA Championship at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper in June, Cooper finished tied for fourth with rounds of 72-66 (138). In three AJGA events, Cooper finished no worse than tied for 31st, and in five Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT) events, he finished inside the top 15 in each. As a member of Team Alabama, Cooper secured victories in his Four-Ball and Singles matches at the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri, helping Alabama secure its 10th consecutive victory.

William Carlson, 2028, Mountain Brook — Carlson is a junior at Mountain Brook High School. William finished 11th (71-73-69—213) in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in June. In eight Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events, William won the Ole Miss Junior Classic in June (68-69—137), earned two second place finishes in the Magnolia Grove Junior Classic in June and the Lowell Fritz Junior Classic in July, and recorded four additional top 25 finishes. William finished tied for 11th in June’s Alabama-Northwest Florida Junior PGA Championship at Musgrove Country Club and finished third at the Apex Tour’s Highland Park event in October.

Fletcher Finch, 2028, Birmingham — Finch is a junior at Mountain Brook High School. Fletcher placed inside the top 56 in both the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) in early June and the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville. In addition, Fletcher finished 25th in Nashville’s Granny Junior Invitational in August and tied for 40th in the 54th Southern Junior Championship at the University Golf Course in Athens, Georgia. Fletcher placed in the top 25 in each of his four AJGA starts, highlighted by a tied third finish in February’s Butterfield Bermuda Junior Championship (71-71-76—218) and a tied fourth finish in July’s Visit Tuscaloosa Junior (70-71-71—212).

Jason Couey, 2026, Athens — Couey is a 2026 graduate of Athens High School. Jason finished tied for fourth in the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville, carding rounds of 71-73-65 (209). Jason also qualified for and played in the 110th Alabama State Amateur at The Country Club of Birmingham (West) in early June. As a member of Team Alabama, Jason won his Singles match 5 & 4 to provide Alabama with a crucial point in the 2026 Southern Junior Cup in Missouri. Jason will continue his golf career at Calhoun Community College.

Denton Brooks, 2027, Birmingham — Brooks is a senior at Mountain Brook High School. Denton earned a tied 20th finish at the 81st Alabama Boys State Junior Championship at Valley Hill Country Club in Huntsville in late June, carding rounds of 75-72-74 (221). In five AJGA events, Denton finished tied for second in January’s Discover Puerto Rico Championship (74-69-69—212) and tied for fifth in April’s Callaway Junior at Canebrake Club (69-74-71—214). Denton also finished tied for 22nd in Dothan’s Future Masters and tied for 51st in the Western Junior Championship in Illinois, both in June. Denton will continue his golf career at the University of Kentucky after high school.


About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)   
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 125 member clubs represented by over 34,000 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. A full-time professional staff of seven individuals handles day-to-day activities.

Based in Hoover, the AGA is the USGA's Allied Golf Association in Alabama conducting national championship qualifying, administering the World Handicap System including the GHIN Handicap service, course & slope rating, and Rules of Golf & Handicapping education. The AGA annually conducts 24 championships; team match competitions for men, women, junior and seniors. The AGA manages the Junior Golf Alabama program that is a joint venture between the AGA and Alabama-NW Florida PGA Section.

In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
